Looking to switch to IPTV

by anotheranonperson

Trying to cut the cord but want to make sure it's good quality and reliable. Have my elderly mother moving in with me during her cancer treatment and want to make sure that the service will work for her.

Looking for 2 to 3 simultaneous streams.

Any ideas? Any services have free trial to look at the quality..

I planning on setting up plex DVR and live TV with Xteve.

Thanks for all your help

Well, your going to get plenty of offers of trials, just try them and see what works best. Just know all iptvs go down at times, sometimes fairly regularly, it's just part of it. So if reliability is a huge deal to you vue or DirecTVnow might be better suited for your needs. Also from an elderly perspective, a dedicated box such as a t1 might be best, it provides a cable like experience which might be simpler for her. Another thing I've found helpful for my mother was the iplay m3u player on the apple TV. Super clean and less tech savvy friendly. Also theres a version of the t1 that has DVR built in, you just got to hook up a hard drive and your good instead of having to do the plex thing. Hope you find what your looking for and best of luck to you!

Helix do a trial here... simultaneous streams are extra but give them a trial. Works great with Kodi, Android boxes, web player, MAG devices etc..

I feel for you and don't want to disappoint you, but if you are looking for reliable then you may be disappointed. I would suggest either getting conventional IPTV (YTTV, Sling, PSVue, etc - Reliable) or several inexpensive providers (~$5 each - Resilient).
