This should act as the kick up the ass to not have all eggs in the same basket. It was the most effective move they could make to impact most providers at once but won't kill them as they don't have the resources for that.
In a way this could be a good thing as there sure as shit won't be a central point of failure for most providers anymore and providers will be more diligent in backing up databases.
